COMPANY PROFILE
Gumusut Kakap Floating Production System (GK FPS) is Shell’s first deep-water project in Malaysia. GK offshore field is located 120 km off North-West of Sabah.
The platform uses advanced Shell technology to safely produce oil from the Gumusut-Kakap field in seas 1,200 metres (3,900 feet) deep.
With an annual peak oil production of around 150,000 barrels a day, the platform contributes significantly to Malaysia’s oil production.
The field currently comprises 20 subsea wells, with oil exported via a 201-km long pipeline to Sabah Oil and Gas Terminal (SOGT) in Kimanis, Sabah.
